Oscar Nominations 2020: The Complete Nominations List

It's the most anticipated season for all of us Movie Buffs, film lovers, cenima heads, smartphone rotators and the rest of us who makes up the film Enthusiast community. The Oscars gives us all the opportunity to sit back an see which of our favorite films get the ultimate accolades for their achievements in telling life compelling stories that has touched our minds and given us a beautiful new perspective of a world so strange or so familiar.

As a community it's our responsibility to be in sync with the rest of the world as we mark yet another year of movie magic.

We the movie Village, would be undergoing a 2 weeks movie marathon to watch an Review every film nominated for the  American Academy Movie Award (The Oscars) 2020. We will on the 1st of February have a poll to select as a community our own picks for every category.

Nothing beats the joy and fulfillment of any film maker than the ultimate recognition for Absolute Excellence in film making, as getting a nomination for the most prestigious Award for film making in the world. This year  Todd Phillips’ “Joker,” a comic-book origin story about Batman’s biggest foe, scored a leading 11 Oscar nominations on Monday, including best picture, best director for Phillips and best actor for Joaquin Phoenix.

Martin Scorsese’s mob epic “The Irishman,” Quentin Tarantino’s ode to Los Angeles “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” and Sam Mendes’ war drama “1917” followed close behind with 10 nods a piece. Those films, along with “Ford v Ferrari,” “Jojo Rabbit,” “Little Women,” “Marriage Story” and “Parasite” will compete for best picture.

Female filmmakers were entirely shut out of the best director race. Along with Phillips, the nominees include Scorsese for “The Irishman,” Mendes for “1917,” Tarantino for “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” and Bong Joon Ho for “Parasite.”

The Academy Awards will air live Feb. 9 on ABC.
