The Lift Hub Movie Night WEEK 3 #WatchSquad

so last week the #watchsquad (cool name for all those who visit the Hub on movie night) was thrilled to an amazing movie called 12 Angry men from 1957, rated as number  5 on IMDB greatest movie of all times.

But unfortunately, half way through the film, feedback came to the movie night management that some member of the #Watchsqaud found the film boring basically because it was in black and white (oh please children of nowadays would never  understand the joy of colourless picture). so this lead to a state of panic because our aim is to trill you guys of course and not to bore you so you can come back next week.

so just so that you don't come and give me heart attack after voting for your favourite film of the week because you didn't know the specifics of the film you voted for. this blog would do the job of giving you synopsis as to what the movie entails (No Spoilers though) and everything you need to know about it before you vote.

so as custom, the year for the week is 1992 and i must say that it was a phenomenal  year in movie history with so much to choose from. but as always we have selected the best of the best so vote wisely (this decision would be Tough Though).

1. The Bodyguard ( Action Drama/  2nd Highest grossing of the year)

A former Secret Service agent takes on the job of bodyguard to a pop singer, whose lifestyle is most unlike a President's. this is one of my mothers favourites of all time and i am really sure we all miss Whitney.

2 The Last Of The Mohicans (Period Thriller Action IMDB Rating 7.8)

The last members of a dying Native American tribe, the Mohicans -- Uncas, his father Chingachgook, and his adopted half-white brother Hawkeye -- live in peace alongside British colonists. But when the daughters of a British colonel are kidnapped by a traitorous scout, Hawkeye and Uncas must rescue them in the crossfire of a gruesome military conflict of which they wanted no part: the French and Indian War.

3 Sister Act (Comedy Drama Music. 8Th HG. Rating IMDB )

When a worldly singer witnesses a mob crime, the police hide her as a nun in a traditional convent where she has trouble fitting in. i remember having this on VHS, I'm sure i borrowed it from my neighbour but i never returned it. i still feel this is Whoopi's greatest film.

4 Basic Instincts ( Crime Drama Mystery, 4 HG. Rating IMDB 6.9

A violent, suspended police detective investigates a brutal murder, in which a manipulative and seductive woman could be involved. so i actually wasn't allowed to see this film then ( But i can now, peeks of being a grown up )

5 Unforgiven (Drama Western. Best Picture and 3 others Awards Oscars 1993 , Rating IMDB 8.2)

Retired Old West gunslinger William Munny reluctantly takes on one last job, with the help of his old partner and a young man. remember the guy Good in the Good, The Bad And The Ugly ? and where are the Morgan Freeman's fans?.

6 Bram Stoker's Dracula ( Horror. 3 Oscars, 9 HG, Rated 7.5 IMDB)

The centuries old vampire Count Dracula comes to England to seduce his barrister Jonathan Harker's fiancee Mina Murray and inflict havoc in the foreign land. i Hope we are able to sleep after this or walk home alone.

7 Batman Returns (Action. 6 HG. 2 oscar Noms, Rating 7.0 IMDB)

When a corrupt businessman and the grotesque Penguin plot to take control of Gotham City, only Batman can stop them, while the Catwoman has her own agenda. where are all the DC Fans, come and show your Solidarity after Justice League.

8 Home Alone 2 Lost In New York (Comedy Adventure, 2 HG, Ratings 6.6 IMDB)

One year after Kevin was left home alone and had to defeat a pair of bumbling burglars, he accidentally finds himself in New York City, and the same criminals are not far behind. so Kelvin is back to cause more trouble. and yes New York and the statue of Liberty should be scared to death of that young man.

9 Malcolm X (History Biography Drama, Ratings 7.7 IMDB)

Biographical epic of the controversial and influential Black Nationalist leader, from his early life and career as a small-time gangster, to his ministry as a member of the Nation of Islam. look how cute Denzel was, more like a Zaddy. wait is this the "I have a Dream Guy" ?

10 Aladdin (Animation, Adventure, Romance. Highest grossing film of the year Rating 8.0 IMDB)

When a street urchin vies for the love of a beautiful princess, he uses a genie's magic power to make himself off as a prince in order to marry her. i can show you the world, a whole new world with you if you choose.

11 Figurine: Araromire (*WILD CARD ENTRY Thriller Mystery. Rating 7.3 IMDB )

 The Figurine: Araromire is a 2009 Nigerian supernatural suspense thriller film written by Kemi Adesoye, produced and directed by Kunle Afolayan, who also stars in the film as one of the main protagonists. It also stars Ramsey Nouah and Omoni Oboli.

The synopsis of Figurine (Araromire) shows that it is a story of two buddies and a girl...all down on their luck have their lives changed when one of them discovers 'Araromire' a mysterious figurine in an abandoned shrine which, according to legend bestows seven years of good luck. But no one told them about the next seven years...
